Westfall Photography, a San-Jose-based Portrait Photography Studio bio picture

Welcome to my world!

Hello there. My name is Jessica and I'm a mother to two adorable girls age 1 and 3 years old. I'm also the owner of Westfall Photography, a San Jose-based portrait photography studio. Our studio specializes in families, maternity, babies, children, high school seniors, and wedding. Our goal is to create an art piece from the moments in your life. At our studio, we feel we are the meeting point of where life meets art.

So why do we have a blog? Well the blog is for all the fun stuff that you don't see on our website. It is where we keep you updated with all the specials and events going on in the studio. It is also where we will showcase our newest clients portaits. And last of all, it is where I keep you updated on my family. Running a full time studio while raising two little girls has it's crazy moments and so this is my canvas on the chaos in my life. Here's to art. Cheers!

NAWBO 20th anniversary

We had the pleasure of photographing at the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) dinner to celebrate their 20th anniversary. The women business owners there were amazing. They were full of energy, passion, and had extremely successful businesses that range from electronic manufacturing, to financial institute, to designing firms. I want to thank you Maxine Golding of California Special Occasions for this opportunity.

I will be posting images from this event later this week.

June 23, 2009 - 10:38 pm Mary - Pretty nice post. I just came across your site and wanted to say that I have really enjoyed browsing your posts. In any case I'll be subscribing to your blog and I hope you post again soon!

Pink Umbrella

What a nice evening to go out with my little girls and spend some time at Santana Row. I dressed them up in some cute dresses that I had found and gave them some colorful pink umbrellas that we had picked up the last time that we went to San Francisco. The girls had a wonderful time running up and down and having me photograph them. My kids love to be photograph I think more than I like to photograph them. After we worked out an appetite and it started getting colder, we went back to the car to get the girls there jacket and headed over to Pinkberry to get frozen yogurt. Isn’t that what you always eat when it starts getting cold? umbrella01umbrella02umbrella03umbrella04umbrella05

Megan and Ashley - Posh Doggies

gullo03gullo01gullo02Megan and Ashley came in for a session for our 2010 Furry Friends Calendar. They were completely stylish and ready to go out on the town after our session. The only thing missing from their outfits were some handbags. I had a wonderful time photographing these two terriers. They were a delight and full of love. Especially Ashley who snuck in a kiss every chance she got.

Francis and Evelyn’s Wedding

Congratulations to this beautiful couple. It was a wonderful wedding and I had so much fun. Too much fun actually. I enjoy seeing all the cousins back in town and dancing the night away. To all the family members that we have not seen in years, I was so happy to see everyone. It was as if we were never apart to begin with. The conversations were great, the toast were funny and touching, and the dancing was filled with moves.

We had the best time at this wedding. The wedding started at Our Lady of Peace with a beautiful ceremony. The reception was held at Historic Del Monte and the dance floor was never empty.

Congratulations to the happy couple. I wish you the best and welcome to the family Evelyn.

Kenya - The newest Hip Hop Star Model

Kenya and her mom drove in from Brentwood to see us and I am so grateful that they did. I know that is a far drive so we were flatter that they made their way to us for a session. It was great that they did because Kenya and I had a great time. We started with a headshot session upstairs and went to Downtown Campbell afterward for some more editorial shots of her. We then dressed up in a Hip Hop outfit, re-did the makeup to add more fun and color and proceed to the train tracks. The shots we got there were really cool, but you are not allow to stand long on the tracks because they are active and so after 4-5 quick shots, we packed up and called it a day.

After seeing the images from the session I wanted to thank you Ellen for bringing your gorgeous daughter in, Kenya for being a fun model, and Wendy for doing a great make up job on Kenya. I had a wonderful time with all of you.

June 20, 2009 - 4:46 pm Ellen Sandoval - We were so glad to find you! I love your work.

Ali is a Karate Master

Ali M. got his black belt and I was there to watch and capture this truly great achievement. He had been working toward this black belt for over 5 years and this year he received it. It was great to be there at the ceremony and watch not only Ali, but all the other students who received their black belt. All the students had such proud parents and as the parents spoke about their child’s path toward this achievement you could hear the pride in their voices. It was a energetic, great ceremony to witness.

Ali received his training from Master Kim at Kim’s Martial Art Academy. Thank you Master Kim for having us there. The food after the ceremony was delicious. They made the best Korean food and my daughter especially loved the soup that was served.

Santa Barbara was beautiful this Spring. Warren, the kids and I packed up our bag and headed south last month to go camping and have some family time. It was a great week. We went to Santa Barbara and enjoy the beach and zoo. The Santa Barbara zoo was really nice and had a good assortment of animals. It was spread out and the animals seem to have a good range of space to move around.

Another great spot that we went to was in Goleta Train Depot. There is a little mini train that the kids sit on top of and ride. We even got Daniella a pink engineer hat.

Then we camp out at Carpinteria which the girls loved. It was the ideal week for them camping right on the beach at Carpinteria State Beach. They camp and play in the sand all day, went to bed, woke up and went right back to the beach. The weather was nice and ideal for playing in the water. The day that we packed up the tent both girls were crying and having a fit that the tent was coming down.
